ReferHive ("ReferHive", "we", "us", or "our") operates a professional networking platform that connects job seekers with referrers, mentors, mentees, course instructors, and learners. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website, mobile experiences, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email, phone number, password, and the role you choose (job seeker, referrer, mentor, learner).
• Profile and resume data: work history, education, skills, certifications, portfolio links, resume files, profile photo, and self-described preferences.
• Job and referral activity: job posts you publish, applications you submit, referral requests, and messages exchanged about opportunities.
• Mentorship activity: mentor profiles, availability windows, booking requests, and notes shared for a session.
• Course activity: courses you publish or enroll in, progress, reviews, and submissions.
• Payments: when paid features are used, billing details are processed by third-party payment providers; we store only transaction metadata, not full card numbers.
• Usage and device data: log data, IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and referring URLs.
• Cookies and similar technologies: used for sign-in, preferences, and analytics.

• Operate, secure, and improve the Platform.
• Match job seekers with referrers and surface relevant openings.
• Facilitate mentorship discovery, availability sharing, and scheduling of calls coordinated by ReferHive.
• Deliver course content, track progress, and process course-related transactions.
• Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, application updates) and, with consent, occasional product updates.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal data.

• With referrers: when you apply for a referral, your profile, resume, and application details are shared with the referrer for that role.
• With mentors: when you book a mentorship slot, your name, contact details, and any notes you provide are shared with the mentor so the session can be coordinated.
• With instructors and learners: for courses you publish or enroll in, the relevant party sees the information required to deliver or take the course.
• With service providers: hosting, analytics, email delivery, and payment processors who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• For legal reasons: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ReferHive and its users.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice.

We keep account and profile information for as long as your account is active. Application, referral, mentorship booking, and course records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

• Access, update, or correct your profile from the Profile section.
• Request a copy of your data, restriction of processing, or deletion by contacting us.
• Opt out of non-essential marketing emails using the unsubscribe link.
• Manage cookies through your browser settings.

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and to notify you promptly if a security incident affects your account.

We use essential cookies for sign-in and session management, and analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser; some features may not work as intended without them.

ReferHive is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

ReferHive is operated from India. If you access the Platform from outside India, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country with different data-protection laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and where appropriate we will notify you by email or in-app notice.
